Work Health & Safety

Remember safety is everybody's responsibility!

Multimedia Equipment, Training & instruction videos and reminders such as posters are ideal to make staff aware of the potential hazards in long term computer use. Installation of ergonomic furniture helps reduce risk of eye strain, back aches, headaches & carpbutunnel.

Electrical & Fire Safetyensure the equipment you use has been routinely tested (and possibly) tagged, if this is specified by the organisation’s safety management plan and/or maintenance program visually inspect equipment, electrical cables, switches and plugs before use; remove or isolate any damaged, frayed or faulty items immediately and organise replacements or repairs as required.

Manual Handlinguse mechanical aids like trolleys and lifting aids whenever possible;
or get help to lift or carry heavy or awkward equipment.
Reorganise the work area if possible, to limit the amount of bending,
twisting and stretching.
