Work Health & Safety surrounding the use of multimedia.

Work Health & Safety Remember safety is everybody's responsibility! Multimedia Equipment, Training & instruction videos and reminders such as posters are ideal to make staff aware of the potential hazards in long term computer use. Installation of ergonomic furniture helps reduce risk of eye strain, back aches, headaches & carpbutunnel. Electrical & Fire Safety ,  ensure the equipment you use has been routinely tested (and possibly) tagged, if this is specified by the organisation’s safety management plan and/or maintenance program  visually inspect equipment, electrical cables, switches and plugs before use; remove or isolate any damaged, frayed or faulty items immediately and organise replacements or repairs as required. Manual Handling ,  use mechanical aids like trolleys and lifting aids whenever possible;  or get help to lift or carry heavy or awkward equipment. 1. The library provides public access to information and communication technology resources free of charge via the libraries reading rooms. 2. Assist customers and colleagues with access enquiries on how to download & view an eResource or access software supplied. 3. The library does not accept responsibilities for any losses arising from the use of technology. 4. Readers must not access download or print pornographic or other offensive material. 5. Children must be accompanied by parents or guardians as they access the internet. 6. Keep yourselves and others safe from harm, understanding  any Work Health & Safety issues concerning the use of multimedia equipment and systems.
